To post first, or to design first??

by simon,

Things are going mad at Looksy headquarters, and one dilemma we’re facing is: start blogging, even though the blog skin doesn’t look quite right? Or wait until it’s perfect before we start using our voice.

Seems like the Gen C thing to do is get talking! Let the design stuff sort itself out in due course. This was of course spurred by this piece of feedback from Christchurch:

Hey!
Going to your blog proved fruitless and does nothing to the ‘digital native’ label. Sort your shit out and we in ChCh NZ might join your co-creation Gen-C project!
Ka kite!

Hmmm. Thanks for sharing!

Yayy - the blog interface has been miraculously transformed over-night. How about some conversation about this project? Is this a massive marketing ploy? How will editting be tackled? Am I just cynical in my old age or is the welcome video a little puerile?

Hi Sharon. Blog interface was pretty easy to change - just choose a different theme in Wordpress. But is it the right theme? I don’t think so.

Glad to have some conversation about this project - that’s kind of the whole idea!

Is this a massive marketing ploy. Yes! Kind of.

We are trying to get people in marketing and business to really understand what Generation C is about - that you can’t talk “at” youth any more, you need to co-create products with your audience. It’s about getting past the manipulative ways marketing has been done in the past.

Puerile? In the eye of the beholder. I’ll take it as a compliment though.

Hmmm - this blog conversation is far from ‘taking off’. It’s you & I Simon! Introducing ‘devil’s advocate’ topics hasn’t had the desired effect - apathy rules.
